ob overview - the purpose of the Key Account Manager Transportation role is:


● To execute the annual Sales & Project Development Plan, ensuring a consistent and effective


execution of the business strategy


● To realize the budgeted Customer/Product/Project Sales volume at differential pricing


● To manage, develop and nurture the account relationship, identify key stakeholders and


establish solid relationships


● To engage in customer visits, identify and capture growth opportunities in targeted automotive


applications with your accounts


● To increase sales by promoting target products/applications, identifies and captures cross-


selling opportunities at your account


● To master and enlarge your know-how on resins/engineering/processing for thermoplastic


materials, working closely together with with multidisciplinary teams in Marketing and R&D to


achieve this target


● To effectively troubleshoots on all customer issues and queries


● To provide regular updates on market intelligence and competitive movements for your


account, within the automotive marketplace involving multidisciplinary teams / internal


stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Research and Development, Quality, Product Management


● To drive excellence in business processes like Pricing, S&OP, Financial Credit management, to


ensure frequently reports on Sales & Project Development KPI’s all by cooperating closely with


Marketing, Technical teams, Customer Service and the Financial Credit Teams


● To coordinate the review and approval of legal contracts, agreements and frameworks for your


account (commercial, logistic, supply, NDA’s,..)


● To ensure that the CRM (Salesforce.com) is kept up to date with latest informations on the


Accounts, Meetings, Developments, Projects, Sales Volume, Pricing and Forecasting


Your account includes a large complex and strategically important international customer, an


automotive Tier 1’s headquartered in Germany and their related molders



Key Challenges:


● Manage highly complex business situations, lead cross functional teams within in an agile,


swiftly adapting environment where priority setting, solution orientation always aligned to


Solvay Strategy is key to be successful


● Act as true project leader in introducing and driving successfully forward new


concepts/products into to the market at your account


● Ensure an in depth, always up-to-date understanding on resins/engineering thermoplastic


materials and their new innovations to resolve successfully issues in close cooperation with


multidisciplinary teams



Education and Experience:


● Bachelor’s Degree or higher qualification in material science, chemistry, mechanical


engineering or a related technical discipline strongly preferred.


● 8 + years of commercial experience in technico-commercial roles, with a proven track record of


growing business within the automotive market (Automotive OEM, Tiers, Automotive Plastic


Molders)


● The ideal candidate will have a solid professional knowledge in thermoplastic materials as well as in the design of plastic part and their processing (injection molding) across a variety of


automotive applications

Ideal profile-

Key points
Must speak English and German, availability to travel 60% of the time within EMEA region. Automotive background is mandatory; Target companies - Plastic Manufacturing companies(such as Solvay):

EMS - Chemie, Lyondell-Basell, Toray Industries, BASF. Lanxess, Celanese Corporation, Avient, Bada, Sabic; Tier 1 - Swoboda, Röchling, Denso, ZF Friedrichshafen, Isoco, Weha plastic, Bosch
